Default Wider Tires for OEM 16" Wheels

I was looking at getting some Falken Ziex ZE 512's. I have these on my Accord, and I really like the traction.

I'd like to go a little bit wider. How does this setup sound: 245-50-16/rear & 225-55-16 /front. I wanted to go with 245-45-16/rear & 225-50-16 front, but they don't have Ziex in size 245-45-16.

I really want Falken Ziex's. Is there any other possible combinations that you might suggest using this tire?

Thank you for your advice in advance.

I am also looking for different tires and have some advice.
Go to the Falken website and check for tire specs. Make sure the front and rear are the same diameter, because if you have a rear flat you need to put the spare on the front and move the front to the rear and if the diameter is different than you could mess up your positraction. The specs should also give tread width and rim requirements.
After comparing S-02s with RE750 Bridgestone I found that I needed 225/50R16 for the front and 245/45R16 for the rear to make them comparable to the S-02's

i believe its been covered alot (ie faqs, etc) that a normal 245 tire is equivalent to the S-02's 225 tread width.

Your proposed sizes will fit on the OEM rims, but the fronts will look a little stretched. In order to maintain the correct wheel diameter, you should not use the proposed tire sizes. Since you mention that the correct sizes (245/45/16 and 225/50/16) aren't available in the Ziex, I wouldn't use that model of tire.

Why do you want wider tires anyway? The OEM tires offer excellent grip in the stock sizes, and there are aftermarket alternatives that fit properly and offer nearly the same dry performance.

what problems will there by if i just bought the 245/50/16?

however, they do have the correct front sizes. (225/55/16)

The correct front size is 205/55/16, not 225/55/16.

If you run a 245/50/16, they will have a larger outside diameter than OEM, resulting in effectively higher gearing and the speedometer will read slower than than it should.

OK I know understand the problems of running the incorrect size.

so which set up is better recommended if 245/45/16 is not available?

front- 205/55/16
rear- 225/50/16

OR

front- 205/55/16
rear- 245/50/16

again, these are not for the s02s

thanks.

i wouldnt recommend the falkens.

the tires i would want in 16inch are RE01R's but those are pricey..

when it came time to get tires i went with hankook RS-2's. 205/55, 245/45
