Default Will '08 OEM wheels & tires fit '03?

I finally started tracking my car this year in south Florida. Running OEM wheels with Potenza RE-11A's. Great for the street, but I need more grip for the track. So I'm looking at a set of '08 OEM wheels, with more width front & back, and some stickier tires like Nitto's, the car should run great. I have a set of Koni shocks, stock springs and ride height and 2 degrees negative camber. I am also trying to maintain the OEM flavor of the car. Which brings me back to my question, which may sound stupid, will 17" 2008 OEM AP-2 wheels & tires fit on my 2003 AP-1? I plan on 215/45's front & 245/45's rear. I'm hopping you fitment geeks can roll me in the right direction. And these 17" wheels/tires will be just for the track. Please chime in!

Yes, but you want 245/40 (or 255/40 like CR) on the rear.

Ok,thanks. I was sort of considering the 255/40's too. Makes sense. (I have a CR OEM style rear spoiler wing and front lip). This wheel/tire fitment stuff can be difficult with this car. The high offset on the wheels is my problem. That's one reason I want to stay with an OEM wheel. The slightly lower profile tire and wider tire should definately help the corner performance. BTW your car looks sweet!

You'd be surprised how many track guys run 16 inch rims. I've got the ap2v3's and I recently picked up some jdm ap1 rims, and I had the usdm ap1's and some ap2v2's in the past. They all fit fine. You can put on some fat sticky track tires and run the 16's quite well, but then you will still need a second set of rims for the street so I guess it doesn't matter which way you go.

225/45/17f and 255/40/17r is what I run on my ap2 wheels. Love the setup, wider tire upfront means better braking and turn in.

Thank you all for your replies. Cars look great. I just had a successful day at Homestead-Miami speedway yesterday. I definately think a slightly lower tire profile, wider tires and stickier tires will help me turn this baby in tight corners. I can just feel my tires sliding sliding in turns. I hope to pull the trigger this week and order what I need. Thanks again

I've got a set of ap2v3 rims in mint condition for sale, better condition than new, been running them on my ap1. Shipping cost would cost a bit though.

May I ask if the inside of your wheels' powder-coated?
