Default Winter tires

About to buy winter tires for stock 16inch wheels. What kind of winter tires do you use?

I'm in the same boat as you. Not sure if I should go with a Performance winter tire or a studless ice/snow tire.

HAHA, how odd. I asked that question to myself no more than an hour ago.

The Dunlop Winter Sport M3's are pretty good.

Seem to have better traction in deeper snow than the LM-22

I bought the Dunlop Wintersport M3's from Jim last year and they worked great for me. You can definitely tell they are a winter tire when it is dry, but when it is cold and dry, below 45 or 50, they have more grip than summer tires. In the snow I never had any problems, and I was okay on ice as long as I was careful. I would recommend the Dunlops.

I had blizzacks on my civic, and my wife has them on her civic. Great tire for us, since they stay fairly pliable when it is below zero outside, which it is here for weeks at a time in winter. They also are great in the snow. It's fun to watch other people spin their tires at a stop light and we just take off. Of course it's hard to compare the LM-22's to the WS-60 blizzacks, but i doubt you will be dissapointed in them.

I ran the M3 on my evo and it was a nice tire, but way over on the performance vs. traction side compared to a tube multi-cell bizz. So defintely go if you get moderate snow, and just some ice, otherwise in real winter use -1 and blizz.
