I just spoke to Jim yesterday and ordered the winter tire and wheel package he described. It seems like the best combo to get me and the car through our first winter together. Edited to add: I chose the Blizzak WS-50's. I live in a hilly area in the Shendoah Valley in Virginia. And the hills lead to the mountains
You chose well.

I just orderd a wheel package from Tire Rack also. I got the staggered setup WS-50s. I'm in the snow belt... we'll see how well this works out.

Last winter i ran 4 205/55/16 Dunlop M3 WinterSports on stock (staggered) wheels (2001 s2k) during a snowy winter in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and I thought the setup worked okay.

Dry traction was decent and things only got loose in the snow once. I did have to be really careful with my right foot when driving in bad snow conditions, but that's par for the course in any light, powerful rwd vehicle.
