wrong tire?
Discount Tire put on 225/50 ZR16 Rears on my car when I asked for oem tires.
THe guy said today that their computer says they put on Potenzas. The tire does not say Potenza on them. Should'nt these tires be 92W instead of ZR? Teh guy tried to tell me these are the same tire. Guys in my club are saying these are the Porche Boxter tires.

If it doesn't say 92W, it's the wrong tire. Last week my local installer tried putting a 92W on one rear wheel and a ZR on the other. Fortunately I inspected the tires before installation and stopped him.
That would have made for some interesting handling behavior.
The ZR has much more void in the tread.
Bridgestone's all have a 30 day guarantee--so just take them back and insist on the S2000 SO-2s.

I sent an e-mail to DISCOUNT TIRE on Tuesday of last week. I was nice but firm on my feelings toward their error. I even stated I would pay the $40 per tire since I have driven on these wrong tires they gave me. I told them I felt like I should not have to pay the shipping and such of the tires, etc. The website e-mailed me back the that evening saying they would contact me by noon the next day. I have not heard from anyone. I hope they get back to me, we have a large group of car guys in this area and I would hate to have to post a negative thread about all of this.

still no reply from Discount Tire. Do you guys have nay suggestions? I plan to call the 800 number sometime this week. I can't believe I have not been contacted. They are a pretty big chain to have such crappy customer service.

Get the area manager involved since the store is not going to take care of the problem.
You could always let it slip that you are thinking of passing this story on to a local TV station that does investigative stories... How would they like to be on the news defending themselves for installing the wrong tires.... then asking the customer to pay.... and then not getting back to him!

Its just a conspiracy!!!! All the tire stores are going to install the Porshce tires so our S2000's don't handle as well... so the Z3/Z4's and Boxters can outperform us!
Ray is just the guinna <s> pig in this conspiracy!
