Thumbs down Yoko A048s on OEM Wheels

I'm running 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 A048s on my Work wheels, and I like them so much I decided to put some on my (spare) OEM wheels. I got 205/55-16 and 225/50-16 [I am aware of the OEM tire sizing issues].

I think I might be the first to try this.

These are the 17s:

Here is the comparison of the 16 inch rear S02s and A048s. As you can see, the section width is the same, and the contact patch of the A048 is a little smaller than the S02. I'm confident that the insane grip of the A048s will more than make up for the contact patch difference. Keep in mind that the shadow on the right side of the A048 is because of the tire contour [it's wider than it looks]:

I'm extremely busy studying for my anesthesia boards exam, but as soon as the test is over, I'm going to powder coat my OEM wheels and mount these bad boys!

More pics and info to follow....

I have the A048 tires on my car and I LOVE them! I drove with them to the dragon this past August and they were awesome down there. I have also autocrossed on them a few times and I think they are a great tire. I will definitly get them again, just stay away from driving on them in the rain is all.
