Default Bola B1 alloys..another fitment thread, please help

First off before we start, I'm sorry. I really am I mean I have scoured the internet for days and I just don't understand wheels/alloys the numbers all the malarky and I know you guys do so I came to the pro's.

Please don't just post links to other threads - you ay know what the info means but I literally need to be spoon fed .

Now that's out the way, the alloys I want on my s2k are, as titled, the Bola b1s. These are available in both 17" and 18" - I would prefer 18" fitment if it will work??

They come in fitment 5x114.3 (I understand this much ) as well as 5x114 which can always be fitted with wobble bolts if needed. The 17" alloys come at 7.5j (thinking this is the width of the alloy?) at ET40-45 - thats the bit i am most confused about. The 18" come as 8.5j at ET30-45 and 18" 9.5j at ET30-45

I know the 17" fit as a site i went on confirmed it...I just couldn't figure out if the 18" will fit?? As said they are my preference, any help is truly appreciated, again I apologise for my lack of knowledge in this area and I know everyone asks this stuff all the time. Like I said I really have looked for the answers I just couldn't find them

The overall diameter isn't the biggest issue. You won't have a problem fitting a 17" or 18" wheel. The biggest issues are bolt pattern (5x114.3 and 5x114 are interchangeable - there technically is no 5x114 size, it's all 5x114.3) and offset, and that's the ET or "Einpresstiefe" value (German term, like PS for Pferdestärke, literally horsepower).

The higher the offset, the better off you'll be with the S2000. Offset is the measurement between the absolute center of the wheel and where the wheel mounts to the hub. An offset of 0 means the mounting point is exactly in the center of the wheel's width. +55 means it's 55mm further toward the outside of the wheel, while -30 means it's 30mm further toward the inside of the wheel. Stock offsets are ET55 front, ET65 rear. These are very high offsets.

This is way more info than you need, so I can tell you that a 17x7.5 ET45 will fit, but will require rolled fenders. Unfortunately 17x7.5 is relatively narrow for rear fitment, and I don't think anyone here would really recommend it, especially if you're more inclined to 18" wheels. Also unfortunately, 18x8.5 ET45 is really pushing fitment limits and would require a roll and tab relocation, and depending on how low you sit, a fender pull might also be necessary.

Hi CMK thanks for the info and a great explanation, you have helped me with a lot of things there and i'm pretty sure i get it now.

Realised I didn't give any specs on my personal car - suspension is stock and the arches are not rolled - i don't mind dropping the car in future but i don't want to roll the arches really.

If anyone has any suggestions on alloys that would be a massive help... I'm really looking for 17"/18" 6 spoke concaves. Obviously Rota Grid Drifts exist but I don't want Rota's especially...any other suggestions???

JUST LIKE THESE!!!! (yes i am aware they are grids )

Concave fitment is gonna be hard to come by on the S2k because it requires such a high offset. The car you linked has an extremely aggressive offset with stretched tires. I imagine the fenders are rolled and pulled, and it probably still rubs.

The Rota Grid is a Volk TE37 replica, and you can find the TE37 in S2000 fitments but it won't be concave (and it WILL be expensive). Here's an example:
