Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec
Im looking for a set of the Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 205/55R16 and 225/50R16 for my Ap1 from Tire rack. Is the rear contact equall to the oem s02 tires? I currently am running 245/45/16 toyo t1r which I believe is wider than both but I do not want to go beneath factory specs. All I can find on the Dunlops are overall width of 9.1 for the rears vs 9.2 for bridgestone and 9.6 for Toyo T1r. Any help anyone can offer is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

do 245/45/16 in the rear. what you get for the front is up to you weather or not you have suspension. you can go 205/55 or 215/50 or even 225/50/16 in the front if you have stiffer suspension.

Forget the stickie, you do NOT have to run 245 in the rear, and you do NOT have to run the same or greater rear "tread width" than the OEM S02's.
There are FAR more important parameters affecting actual tire grip than the "tread width" figure. This is PARTICULARLY true on the street.
Insist on 245's in back and you are eliminating the best tires available for the AP1 from consideration.
Oh yeah, the middle vid in your sig is very distracting, touges...

Oh yeah, the Star Specs should be an EXCELLENT choice, but consider that there's currently a killer special on Bridgestone RE01R's from the Tire Rack as well.
Either of these tires in 225/50-16 rear will be superior to anything you can get in 245/45-16.
Again, FORGET the stickie!

The RE01r's are sold out in ap1 sizes. Plus the Dunlops tested better but do not offer a 245/16. I just would like to keep the same or greater contact patch as the oem tire. I'm not worried about the whole 245 rear theory. But I can't seem to find the tread spec for the dunlops.
thanks for the input.

225/50/16 is definitely fine i nthe rear for an AP1, and will perform much better than those 245 T1Rs.
I'm running 205/55 and 225/50 Star Specs on my AP1 and it is completely fine, in fact far better than the OEM tires.
