Yeah, definitely. I wish we were running CCW, rather than CW, as the last time I ran that direction was the first day on the outgoing set of RT615Ks so the lap times could pretty much be directly compared. Either way, I've got a lap time to beat, it's just not a direct comparison

I'd like to make a correction, Kenny, you were right, the tires are wider in the mid section than most other 255s. I managed to get a slight rub in the rear under full compression, I've got somewhere around -3* camber back there.
The tires are about as loud as Nexen SUR4, but lower pitch.

I ran em today. No idea of working tire pressures and couldn't find anything online about it so I ended up starting off way too high - 35 hot. Over the day I ended up bleeding air, last session being 30 hot, which I think might still have been too high for these things.
I didn't really like them, they don't have much feedback and they seemed to require more front slip angle than I'm used to. I ended up just kind of ignoring the tires my last session and set a PB on the last lap of the day without it feeling risky / loose. After that session I felt I could probably go much quicker on them if I had another session left.

We shall see, I've heard they heat cycle out after two days. I might have just been running too much pressure, along with it being my first time running non-street rubber on a car.

I'm open to suggestions.

I did a track day yesterday at a new to me track (Eagles Canyon Raceway) and the conditions were not ideal, it had rained the night before and the track started out damp and that coupled with me learning the track meant it took 3 laps before I was confident to push on them. We then had rain wash out the next session, and the session after that was even more slippery than the first damp session. Still managed to get within 4 seconds of my best time from the first session even in the mostly wet track. Last session of the day we changed the course and ran clockwise (had been running full course and counter clockwise before) and the tires finally felt like they were working good, grip was there and was able to push them with some confidence.

Struggling to make a good comparison with these tires versus my previous set (Dunlop Z2 StarSpecs) as I have yet to have decent track conditions to compare the two. To this point I would say the offer similar levels of grip, but I think on a warmer day with better track conditions the Hankooks would be superior... will report back after NASA event March 10-11.

What pressures were you running?

Considering the temps I ran slightly higher pressures to help the tires warm up, ~30psi hot.

Alright, I'll be running another event or two on March 3-4. Guess I'll try 28-ish hot.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of running as well. Will look for your input!

Wow, you guys were running those pretty low. I was running them at about 38 psi hot and felt feedback was pretty decent. Not sure why you would want to go lower unless your tires were super pinched on the wheel and you had to run artificially low pressures to keep the contact patch flat.

How much camber are you running? I was nowhere near the marked arrow at 35psi hot and was almost to it on the outside tires at 30 hot. I kept hearing run low pressures for Hankook slick/semislicks around the paddock.

I think it's time to get a pyrometer.
