Default Rebarreling stock AP2V1 rims?

Hey everyone,

I was just curious if anybody else has tried to widen their stock rims. Can the offset be changed so that they have a lip around the face of the rim? I like the way my AP2 rims look but it would be awesome if they were wider. I just figured out the whole offset thing I had no idea you could widen stock rims. Any information is much appreciated.

Thanks!

The answer is yes, possibly. Talk to these guys, they will answer all your questions.

I'm at work now but will definately check it out when I get home tonight. Realistically I would like to have a 10inch wheel in the rear and maybe a 9.5inch in the front.

Any thoughts on pushing the face of the wheels inwards? I think that could look really cool/unique. If it is even possible.

Thanks for the link btw!

It would look cool, but there is much more work involved then simply cutting the wheel in half and welding in a ring, which is whats done to add inner width. It would be more cost effective to do this and add a spacer to push the face out, unfortunately that wont give you a lip though. Talk to these guys and find out if they can do it to that wheel and if its worth the cost to you. Might have to send them a pic or two. What ever you have done, they will fix any curb rash on the wheel wile modding.

There is an NSX that did this with a set of mugen mf10's. they had the face of the wheel cut out and then placed inside of an ssr wheels barrel. I know it is far more complicated than how it woulda and would likely not be cost effective at all but I am sure anything is possible with deep enough pockets.

I checked out the site s2000Junky posted and they will not do this for you. Directly quoted from the site "Widening to the front of the rim can only be done on reverse mount wheels." Ap2 wheels are all front mount as far as I am aware.

I can't see how this would be a cost effective method if you could find someone to do it. Why not buy Advan RZs or we'd sports which re similar in design?

Well I was afraid of that, its definitely a way more complicated process. As mentioned, widening the back of the wheel is a great way to go if its going to work for your set up.
