Urge Design grip wheels with stock fenders
Hey folks,
I’m looking into getting the Urge Design CCW wheel in there “stock fender” sizes (18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear). I’m wondering if anyone has some pictures they would like to share. I wondering about how they fit with which tire sizes. I’m would like to run sizes of 255/35/18 front and 285/30/18. My goal is to not roll the fenders. I’m not trying to steal there IP but wondering about appearance.
Thanks
Chris

When Ive talked to Urge Design they are saying the rear will be fine but the front will be close. Grip & Helium Wheels | URGE designs
The car will either be stock ride height or lowered only about 12 mm.

You can run up to a 10.5 +72 specifically with a 285/30/18 on the rear with stock/non touched fenders if you keep drop levels within approx 1" and liberal amount of camber. That offset will keep them off the outer fender under compression and be right on the edge with the inner clearance, its been done successfully by several members in the past that i'm aware of. Now the fronts you can get away with a 245 on a 9" wheel in the +60-65 offset range on stock fenders. 9.5 would need a more aggressive offset in the mid 50's to insure you dont rub the inner control arm but thats really pushing it on the outside fender. The tire will be stretched further helping, so i'm not saying it couldn't be done without rubbing, but is really going to be questionable and ride/height and alignment will need to be on point. Safer to run slightly narrower rim at 9" with 245 for still a good sidewall profile and the higher offset. 255 up front isnt going to happen, not with the rim width you need to get the proper tire stretch/profile. 245/35 is the proper matching overall diameter to a 285/30 anyway.

I’m running into a problem trying to find tires in sizes 245/35/18 and 285/30/18 unless I want to run Hoosiers on the street. I found 245/40/18 but they are getting fairly tall at 25.7 inches. Any suggestions?

Here is a couple other then the slicks, but yeah unfortunately for a matching front 245/35 the pickings these days seem to be slim. But these 2 aren't bad options for a decent summer DD tire. Also both quite affordable for typical 18" size tires.
Alternatively if you roll your fenders you can move up to a 255 and 295 stagger, increasing your manufacture and compound options as well as moving up .5" in rim widths.

I had to do some real digging for you to get these pics of an old friend of mines 10.5 +72 285/30/18 on bone stock fenders. Plenty to give you an idea of what this looks like with a susp drop and being tracked. As you can see they just squeeze by nicely. The fronts if I recall are 8" with 225's. Don't remember the offset. But clearly a overly conservative choice. As mentioned 9 +60 with 245/35 will fit and be a more balanced match to the rear size.

Oh that’s great. Thanks a lot guys. I’m simply afraid of getting a roll done. I’ve heard of horror stories about people saying they know what there doing and looking really bad. Also, the car is so clean and perfect I don’t want to modify it in a way I can’t reverse later. I’m trying to move past that. I’ve seen those two tire options but was hoping for something more aggressive. I want to get back into autox and maybe on track.
