Default Chicago to begin using Lidar

Chicago to begin using Lidar Laser guns...

Even us V1 folk won't be as protected.... But there is so much traffic in Chicago that you can't usually speed that much anyhow... but still.

Let's just hope the cops are newbs at using it, and just start firing it off like crazy, so we can catch an early signal.

They've been using them for a while now on Lake Shore Drive. I got caught twice going 60, both times in the CR-V.

^ where on LSD?

The Lidar was used on a pilot basis in the 16th District. In just over two weeks, police wrote over 469 tickets.
this is jacked. it's about 4 tix/hr... that is one efficient pig.

LSD is probably easy pickens for the CPD. Its so easy to go 60+, sometimes I'm finding myself at 70+

I'm sure its a cash cow for Chicago. They are always all over the place on LSD. That's probably why there is such a low speed limit there.

If I'm not mistaken its either 40 or 45 in some or all parts. Never over 45 though.

i can't stand what they are doing in the city, i love chicago, but i just can't stand this stupid system
it pisses me off when they call people who speed criminals , i mean c'mon, if you shoot 10 people you are a criminal and if you go 10mph over you are a criminal too, that's fuked up, i remember when i got pulled over last year and the cop called me a criminal because i was going 55 in 45 man... i hate cops

honestly, i dont even speed that much anymore, but it's just going too far with the whole speeding deal i can understand to give a ticket to someone who is doing 80 when everybody else is doing 50mph, but giving a ticket to someone who was picked from a crowd of cars that were doing 80mph is wrong IMHO

...and i dont even want to start on those red light cameras, 1.5 million in city revenue in a year (that's what the article said i believe)

what i wrote may be irrelevant to the thread but i just waneted to vent, thx

Pick yourself up a Nuvi 350 (not sure if other models can do things like this)

I have programmed in all of the known chicago red light cameras as custom POI's. When I approach my GPS will give me an alert however far before the intersection I want. I have it set for about a 1/4 mile. That way I know not to blow an intersection....

Of course this is useless if they keep adding more, which they probably will... but it has most of the major ones covered.
