I doubt I would actually drop the money on this, but I found it absolutely hilarious: http://tinyurl.com/nlav5d
I've got a few ideas myself for this year, but I haven't made a final decision yet.

Okay, so originally I was going to be Mordecai from the video game Borderlands, primarily because I play as him and the body style is a pretty close match for me.
That's definitely still an option, but I have a new idea. I think it would be absolutely awesome, but I wonder if the reference would be lost on too many people (probably the case if I went to a party of my peers).
Basically, I'd wear black slacks, black shoes, a black jacket, and sunglasses. I'd slick my hair back and fashion a tie to hang behind me, likely with some thin wire. Then, I'd make a black rectangular "chair" out of cardboard or something that would also have a fake lamp with an angled lamp shade and a little table with a tilted martini glass, having all of this attached to my back and bottom. Then, I could sit down on this contraption (would have to hold my own weight) and be the Maxell ad guy:

Is this far too obscure, or just obscure enough to be unique, but appreciated?
BTW, other DIY-style costume ideas are definitely welcome. I prefer doing the more unique things.
