Well, we had a good time. We had a great lunch, distillery tour, killer dinner and a few beers before sending Kevin home in an Uber. We were walking from a micro brewery to another bar for one last drink when a car full of teenagers pulled up alongside and opened fire with a paintball gun. I took two in the left arm, three in the back; my buddy got one in the neck and one in the back. Little fcukers. Called the cops, gave them the plate number, another cop radioed that they tried to pull the car over but it ran. Milwaukee police have a 'no pursuit' policy which forbids them from giving chase when a car takes off, so that's the end of that -- car was probably stolen and they'll never find the little bastards again. Oh well.
At least I get a little street cred for living through a drive-by, right? :/

Yeah, the thinking is that pursuits are too dangerous in the city and can cause bystanders to get hurt. But it also gives shitheads the opportunity to not pull over if they don't want to knowing that they can get away without much of a fight. Silly.

It is silly, I'd never heard of anyone doing that (except in movies of course). I guess if they have a plate number they could pay a visit to the house, but then all they have to say is it wasn't them driving.
Very odd.

Based on who was in the car, and the kind of car they were driving, i'm guessing it was stolen. No recourse at all.
