were there any adjustments you had to make out of the box to the front latches, or could you describe how you adjusted all of them?

For the fronts, the only adjustment that can be made is height of hardtop via spacers. Front tightness is really controlled by side latch positioning.

I finished installing my hard top today. It would have been a lot easier if the instructions were in english. You would think with all the money Mugen charges for their products they would spend a little time translating their instructions.
That being said, this is one bad ass top. Pictures don't do it justice. When you see it on the car it's something else.

I had a couple of questions from those that have installed the top:

1)What's the deal with the two blue plastic strips that go in the front part of the top?? What is this for? Is it needed?

2)How do you manage to keep the weather striping that goes on the side windows in place, the passenger side does not stay on the metal frame. Am I suppose to bend the little metal tabs to keep it in place?

3)How many spacers did you guys use for the front latches and how many for the rear?

4)I was thinking of paining it matte black, what do you guys think?

for quality and packaging and for the instructions

S2k_fever I just installed my hardtop today and it was a bitch on some areas.

1) I really have no idea what those blue plastic strips are for, but I put them on any way.

2) The whether striping on the side windows I had no problem with you just got to make sure you tuck it in good on both side, I used a flat head screw driver. I did have a problem with my drivers side window hitting the under neath of my hardtop While rolling it up. After a little adjusting it should be fine.

3)On the latches I used all of them they gave me. The best way for me was to losen all the latches were they had some play in them and then I put the top on the car and latched everything then I tightened all the screws.

4) YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAA! I went with all white and sides black me likes!

One thing I'm having trouble with is that my hardtop hangs over my pass. window and my drivers side window sits even with the top.

I agree the instrustions were terrible. LETS SEE PICS SOON!

S2k fever and Red9r, Can you put your softop up and latch it down? I can't seem to latch it when I put it up the tension seems to be way too tight.
1) don't know what the 2 blue strips are for.
2.) My weatherstripping was out of place on my passenger side till I pushed it down into the groove , now it doesn't move at all.
3.) I used all the spacers given.
4.) Flat black would look great if you had Spoon wheels (that are flat black looking also). I would go glossy black to match the gloss of your OEM paint.

THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE HORRIBLE!!!! I got mine from HandA.com and used there instructions for the OEM top. Much easier!

Thanks
Scott

Prolene.. thanks for the info... i almost have it adjusted correctly now!

Fever... did you replace the brushes from the new interior pieces and put them on the old interior trim pieces before you put the old ones back on?

Also, anyone know if you can push 200 speed film to 800 speed? I accidentally forgot to switch the ISO setting on my camera before I took the pics of the hardtop?
