As one of the few people on here who has a pretty good idea of what it can be like, I wish him my very best. I would never want to see any of you guys in that situation.

It certainly is not an easy situation to go through. I still get flashbacks from time to time.

I managed to get Das Mini into a controlled slide on the Northbound 94-Westbound Touhy exit ramp (accidentally... I think it was due to cold temps). It was pretty wild!

"Controlled slide" may be a bit generous for what was more of an "ass-draggage". I intended to grip through the curve initially, but letting up off the throttle brought the tail out a bit more than I had anticipated, although it was easily controllable.
Your sentiments are understandable, though.

Two other things:
First, I stopped in to the Brickhouse on Touhy yesterday for an early dinner (4:30ish). Their talent seems to be consistently better than the one in Downer's Grove, so a meet in there will be coming through the pipelines in the semi-near future.
Secondly, who wants to donate to the "Let Garrison buy Phong/Jeggy's AP1 so he can run for a CO position" fund? I'll cover licensing and insurance.
