I was reading on the miata forums and they said that Honda used the same 7" rear as other mazdas. Thats probably why we can use mazda gears. Although the housing is bigger in the honda, i heard that the miata could use the halfshafts from the s2000.

That means i could
1) get spoon half shafts
2) buy ricks gears perferably 4.77 or something like that

I also saw that they are finally brining ITB's to the miata. with some tuning and elbow grease hitting close to 200rwhp might not be impossible...

I wonder if yall can help me understand something. A lightweight flywheel does not add HP but will allow the car to accelerate faster due to lessened drivetrain loss. So, that should mean that you "free up" horsepower but not gain any more than what the engine was designed to output...

right?

im thinking in the near future to replace my flywheel and clutch assembly to a lightweight FIDANZA 9lb flywheel. They say that 2nd gear will feel like 1st gear. which is good cuz the roadster isn't really quick. Fun as hell to drive though.

It actually won't show up on a dyno chart (which is power vs RPM) but the difference would show up on a RPM vs Time chart - you're (slightly) reducing the inertia required to accelerate the drivetrain.

You can get turnkey superchargers that'll put you over 200 RWHP...

Of course, you'll still be slower than the S2000

technically no. they calculated that the miata only needs 177hp to be the same power/weight ratio as the s2000.

I was thinking about running boost but lately i've been getting annoyed by the whine of the supercharger and the dyno graphs for turbo miatas show that turbo power delivery is very spikey. Thats with shit loads of tuning.

superchargers on the other hand show a smooth power delivery but they sound too whiney.
