I'm such a n00b though, when I transferred from Red to Orange toward midway @ Roosevelt, I took the exit to the street - I thought it'd be a free transfer. But apparently there was an alternate switchpoint, and I had to pay.

So I thought it was gonna be $2. All I had was a $10, so I used it. Then I went through and saw:

$9.75 remaining



Then I remembered the bag of change I had in my laptop carrying case.
