I don't see Alonso sticking around McLaren after this season.

 

The first 20 laps or so were really great. Got a little boring after that for me. That penalty that Hamilton got was a little silly in my opinion. Vettel owes Verstappen a beer for making that tire strategy work out, too -- without that safety car I think the podium would have looked a little different.

 

Enjoyable race, even for a HAM fan like myself.

Bottas is butt. Wehrlein should have gotten that seat.

 

idk man, I think Bottas is going to come into his own. I think that he just had older tires and that's why Lewis was able to do more against Vettel than he was.

Seriously, pitting before that safety car was the only reason Vettel won that race. Especially with the fact that Bottas' stop was slow which meant Lewis' overall pit delta was slow, and extended by that penalty. If they would have gotten Bottas out on time and Hamilton could have avoided that penalty I think the race would have finished in that order.

 

Oh, one last thing: I loved seeing Max take himself out. Brake failure my ass -- he didn't let his new tires come to temperature before trying to drive mad max style.

 

Yeah, I enjoyed that as well. I may have clapped a little.

 

Verstapo definitely won Vettel the race, but Bottas had zero pace all race long.

 

Russia looks like it's going to be a good one so far.

 

I read that Stoffel the Waffle had to change PU components again (MGU i think). It's the fifth of four allotted for three parts each, so he gets a 15 place grid penalty.

The allotment is for the entire season, though. They're already incurring penalties and we're not even 25% through. Going to be a long season for the boys in orange.

 

Apparently Ferrari is already on their third turbo in at least one of their cars, so they'll be facing penalties at some point too.
