So today I went to the auto show with my parents. It was a belated B-day gift for my dad and a way to celebrate finishing the convention thing this past weekend. Afterwards we went out for dinner and my mom tells me how the week before she went in to get her thyroid gland checked for the third time in the past year or so, and apparently the doc found a larger-than-usual growth so they took a biopsy. She was obviously very distraught because her mom died of cancer not TOO much older than where she is now. Turns out she got word on Valentines day that it isn't cancerous and she's all good.
Needless to say I was freaking out inside until she told me the good news, and it was just over the length of the conversation. Apparently my parents didn't want me to hear A: before my convention and B: without hearing it from them in person.
Tell the ones you love daily that you love 'em.

On March 7th I wil be PERMANENTLY be going to first shift!
While it sucks that I will be taking a 5% paycut due to no more shift premium and I can't sleep in any more.... I can now make Thursday meets and have a social life again and it opens SO many more opportunities for training and job growth.
And since my schedule is "normal" like a lot of people here, Michigan meets will be easier to attend and I wont be dragging myself on two hours of sleep when I go to meets!
