What event is today?

I was just traveling on lakeshore drive and literally half of the whole freeway was closed off for cyclists. What event is happening today? There were probably bikers in the thousands.

interesting, my friend is a cyclist. ill have to ask him about that im sure he went, he actually won the national championship a month or two ago.
