Got the Scirocco out yesterday, uneventful drive home (except the battery is shot) and went out to it this morning and noticed the smell of gasoline. Looks like there's a puddle under the rear of the car of gas. I guess I'll be putting it up on jackstands this week to try and find the leak(s).
Awesome.

I replaced the battery last night and repaired a wire that had apparently got hot and frayed itself. Car started right up and ran well with the new battery. There's no drips of fuel I can see when the car is running or not.

Gas left in a tank will eventually evaporate leaving behind impurities and things that don't evaporate. It usually takes at least 3 years before you start to see the sludge/cake in the bottom of the tank.
Fuel spilled on the ground, will evaporate MUCH faster of course.
It's possible it leaked to below where the leak is. Try rocking the car to get more to spill out. or top it off with a SPLASH or two of fuel.

I thought it took longer to evaporate, I noticed it in the morning after putting the car away the night before. No moisture at all, just the outline of a puddle and a slight discoloration. Definitely a smell of fuel in the garage though. The size of the puddle is pretty big, like 4'x2' and right under the right rear side of the car.
I guess I need to jack the car up and take a peek.
