Black Beauty

As every S2000 fan well knows, Honda produced a mere 699 examples of its track-focused Club Racer version of their much-beloved roadster. And as a result, many of them have been pampered over the years rather than tracked. And that certainly appears to be the case with this Berlina Black beauty we spotted over at Bring a Trailer.

Common Sight?

Of those 699 CRs built, 269 of them were finished in this particular color, which makes it pretty common, actually. But that doesn't make it any less awesome. The seller has certainly enjoyed this one, racking up 53k of its 57k miles since they purchased it in 2009.

Thankfully Stock

They did thankfully leave the car stock, and all the Club Racer goodies are still there. That includes a fortified suspension, rear chassis brace, quicker steering ratio, and removable hardtop. They also retained all of the original paperwork and manuals, which was a wise decision.

Minor Collision

The only real "ding" against this particular car is the fact that it was involved in a collision in the fall of 2009. But it couldn't have been too bad, as only the trunk lid was replaced and the rear bumper had to be repainted.

Nice Contrast

On the inside, you'll find black Alcantara seats contrasted with yellow fabric inserts and yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and shifter boot. The aluminum shift knob and pedals are still there, along with the original floor mats. The original head unit was replaced with a Kenwood piece, however.

Salt Free

The 57k indicated miles are obviously still pretty low, but this car did reside in Michigan. According to the seller, it was stored in winter months, so it wasn't subjected to the state's nasty combination of salt and snow that occupies a good portion of the year.

Slightly Dusty

Aside from the somewhat dusty engine bay, this Club Racer is in pretty immaculate condition. But even that's obviously easy to correct in one afternoon with a good detail job.

Daily Material

There certainly aren't many other bones to pick here. This car has obviously been a pretty regular fair weather driver in its lifetime, and still has a lot of life left for someone who wants a fun ride to cruise around in, even if that's every day.

Leave It Alone

Or, you could take it out to the track and have some fun with it. But personally, we'd just clean it up and enjoy it just the way it is. Preferably on some curvy local roads.

Bargain?

Of course, you'll probably have to pay a bit of a premium since Club Racers are the rarest of the S2000 bunch. But we still believe this one will prove to be a bargain when the hammer drops!
