We often pine for a new S2000, but you could have actually bought this one. All you needed was a suitcase full of cash.

Hefty Price Tag

We often express our desire for a new S2000, but those requests continue to fall on deaf ears. But what if we could buy a brand new, never-titled car? Wouldn't that be the next best thing? Well, sort of. This particular 2009 S2000 recently crossed the virtual block at eBay, but if you wanted to acquire such a prized car, you were gonna have to pay. Only problem is, the buy it now price was just a tad under $100,000.

Pay to Play

In the end, the seller didn't quite achieve his desired six-figure asking price. But they did let this Berlina Black beauty go for a more "reasonable" $84,800. But then again, where else are you going to find a car like this? One with just 95 miles on the clock and zero ownership history?

Look Twice

If this particular car looks familiar, that's because it should. It's the same exact S2000 that sold on Bring a Trailer for $70,000 back in February. That's a pretty nice profit for sitting on a car just a few months, we'd say. But then again, the S2000 market is hotter than ever.

Rare and Desirable

Aside from its obvious qualities, the seller also claims that the car is one of just 84 built-in 2009 with a Berlina Black exterior and black interior. It's also the final year the S2000 was produced, so there's that. It should be noted, however, that the previous owner added a mere 4 miles to the car since it was sold previously.

Unique History

But of course, the most interesting aspect of this particular car is the fact that it's never been registered by a private party. It was originally delivered to Nardy Honda in St. James, New York, and was later transferred to Hillside Honda in Jamaica, New York.

Changing Hands

After that, the car made its way to San Diego, California in the hands of another dealer (or two). Thus, instead of a title, the S2000 comes with its original certificate of manufacturer origin. And of course, the window sticker and all of the original books and paperwork.

Bone Stock

As you might imagine, this AP2 looks exactly as it did the day it rolled off the assembly line. It's 100% bone stock, even wearing its original 2008 date-coded tires. There's a clean CarFax included as well, which is to be expected since the car has merely been transferred between dealers since it was new.

Story to Tell

There's no telling if the new owner is another dealer or an individual. Perhaps now it will break its current, long-running streak of dealer-only ownership. Can you imagine titling a "brand new" 2009 vehicle of any make or model? At least you'd have quite the story to tell at the DMV, that's for sure.

One of One?

We've seen some pretty big price tags attached to all sorts of low-mile S2000s in recent months, but it's going to be hard to top this one. After all, how many other "brand new" cars are out there in the world? Chances are, probably not a single one.
