Potential Bargain?

With the prices of pretty much everything skyrocketing these days, vehicles that were already gaining in interest and value - like the Honda S2000 - are getting to the point where they becoming unaffordable in many cases. This typically pushes a lot of folks to seek out higher-mile examples, or cars that aren't in prime condition, like this 2000 model AP1 that recently popped up for sale on Craigslist for $14k.

Serious Mileage

This particular car has racked up some seriously impressive mileage - 228k, to be exact, which is enough to scare off some folks. It certainly doesn't look like it, however, a testament to the people that have owned it previously. Plus, these cars are pretty reliable, so it's a good bet that it's got some life left in it, too.

Modifications

This particular S2000 isn't bone stock, however, and has been treated to a small handful of modifications including a cold-air intake, header, performance-oriented catalytic converter, adjustable coilovers, and stickier tires wrapped around aftermarket wheels. The paint was also treated to a new top coat recently to freshen it up.

Clean Cabin

For a 228k-mile car, this S2000 doesn't look too bad inside the cabin, either. The leather and all of the trim is in pretty good shape, all things considered, and no major work is needed here. Everything also reportedly works flawlessly, though there is obviously some wear and tear throughout.

More Coming?

Thus, the question remains, is this high-mile S2000 worth its asking price? We believe it is, given the state of the current market, and someone clearly agreed, because the car sold fairly quickly. However, we also won't be surprised to see more and more higher-mile S2000s pop up for sale in the coming months as folks look to trade them for some much-needed cash.
