Proper Bargain

Typically, pretty much every S2000 we see for sale these days on sites like Bring a Trailer is a low-mile gem. And of course, those cars are bringing big money these days. So we were a little surprised to come across this AP2 at the site recently. Not because its isn't a gem, mind you. But because it has 94,000 miles on the clock. That little detail also led to a pretty nice bargain for the buyer, who only paid $12,750 to bring the car home.

Driven and Enjoyed

This particular '04 features the popular color combo of Silverstone Metallic with a black interior. It has a brand new soft top that was just replaced last year, along with some recent maintenance including the replacement of the battery and starter. Since new, it's lived its life in California, which is always a good thing in the used car world.

Few Imperfections

The seller acquired the car from his buddy back in 2015, so you could say that it's remained in the family as well. Of course, there are a few things to note, however. The front bumper was repainted and the rear bumper was replaced at one point after an unfortunate encounter with some road debris, for starters.

Driver Condition

There are also a few requisite rock chips, a dent on the passenger side fender, a few scratches on one of the doors, curb rash on the wheels, and minor damage on the lower portion of the front bumper. But none of these things are easily visible from the photos provided, nor from standing a few feet away from the car.

Compelling Case

To us, that kind of stuff just gives us more of a reason to get out and drive a car like this. And that isn't something you can say about the low-mile gems you see selling for big bucks every day. And who wants to own such an amazing driver's car that you can't/don't want to drive for fear of it getting damaged or losing value, anyway?

Factory Fresh

Regardless of the miles, the interior of this S2000 appears to be in very good condition. The seller did add a Bluetooth compatibility module to the car for added functionality, but it's otherwise stock. The only issue of note is the 12-volt socket under the armrest is loose, but that's an easy fix.

Built to Drive

Despite a few bumps and bruises, this AP2 has lived the sort of life that it was intended to live to date. And we imagine that the new owner will continue to rack up the miles and enjoy it. And despite what recent trends might lead us to believe, that's exactly what these cars were built to do, right?
