Cool Custom

Hot Wheels: Unleashed has been a pretty big surprise hit in the video game world since its release, and for good reason. Most car enthusiasts once owned a vast collection of Hot Wheels toy cars, which fueled a passion for the real thing when they grew up and bought the real thing. But the game also gives us the opportunity to create some pretty cool custom rides, which is precisely what Sezu from the GT Planet forums came up with this S2000 Pace Car.

Video Game Inspired

Sezu reportedly spent three full days working on the sweet Gran Turismo livery that adorns this virtual S2000, but the results are undeniably awesome. It's also a great example of how diverse the livery editor in Hot Wheels: Unleashed really is. The GT pace car made its debut a whopping 20 years ago in Gran Turismo Concept and was originally based on the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.

Fan Favorite

Used to pace license test races in the iconic video game, the pace car continued to be used in Gran Turismo 4, forever cementing its place in history. It became something of a fan favorite over the years, even though you can't actually overtake it in the race, much like a real pace car. Several folks have even gone so far as to create real-life replicas of the beloved video game GT-R.

Difficult Task

Of course, the GT pace car isn't available in Hot Wheels: Unleased, as one might imagine, which is why Sezu went to the trouble to make it himself. What makes this feat even more impressive is the fact that you can't upload your own graphics, and must use what's supplied with the game itself.

Big Oversight

Unfortunately, it won't be easy or even possible to drive Sezu's creation ourself, because the game only allows us to scroll through recent user creations - you can't directly search through user-created content. Hopefully, this little oversight will eventually be corrected so we can add this sweet custom S2000 to our own virtual garages.
