The semiconductor chip shortage has led to massive production cuts across the board, leading to less inventory and in turn, higher prices. This has trickled down to the used vehicle market as well, and collectible cars like the Honda S2000 have benefitted from the same surge, and that has quite a few folks understandably thinking about selling.

The average used-vehicle price surpassed $27k in November for the very first time in history, a trend that has continued for the bulk of 2021 so far. The tide, as they say, has lifted all boats, with folks paying more money for pretty much any kind of car these days, whether they be low- or high-mileage, bare-bones, or luxurious.

Fueling the Fire
The same rings true for the collector car market, where people are dishing out huge money for certain kinds of vehicles, including modern SUVs and sports cars. The S2000 was already enjoying an upward trajectory prior to this mess, and it has only surged even more as folks look to buy a little something for themselves.

Thus, the simple answer to our original question is yes, if money is the main motivating factor behind your decision to sell your S2000, now would be a great time to do so.
