Perfectly Good NSX Turned into Whatever The Hell This Is

Some may say it's taboo to slap a bodykit onto a supercar just to look like a competitor, but the guys over at Santarsiero Concepts clearly aren't phased by that opinion.

NSX Turned Ferrari..?

Feast your eyes upon what creator Santarsiero Concepts calls the "Venenza". This boils down to little more than a perfectly functional 1992 Honda NSX kitted to look more like a Ferrari. It's certainly an unusual project (like most concept cars) and some argue that you can't judge another's vision, but boy is it hard to stomach the loss of one of the coolest models from the '90s JDM supercar era.

Lines Are Straight

If there is one thing to compliment, it's that the bodywork looks to be solid. The paneling and body lines appear to be straight as an arrow. No one can argue that Ferrari is a bad source to pull inspiration from, but it's not like the NSX isn't a looker in its own right.

Dawn of an Era

The NSX was the first higher performance application of their coveted VTECH engine and was also the first to feature titanium rods. They came out of the factory making 270hp @7100 RPM, so they had no trouble getting moving quickly. If there's any silver lining to this diabolical surgery, it's that at least the heart of the NSX still remains intact.

Here's Where it Goes Wrong

It's hard to swallow how little homage is paid to the car that's hiding underneath when looking at the rear end. If there's a way to enhance the message the original car is attempting to portray, go for it, but this just seems to strip the car of its identity completely.

Closer...

The interior doesn't seem to be too molested, and although it's hard to tell from the Youtube screenshots the seats may be original. Whatever minor details that have been added, at least it's not as jarring as the outside.

Still Fun To Drive

Whether or not kit cars are your taste, we all know that whoever is driving this thing is having a blast. If someone is willing to spend the money on top of reportedly four years of build time, who are we to judge?

Beauty or Beast?

Renowned artist Andy Warhol once said, "Art is anything you can get away with." Well, from this angle Santarsiero Concepts just might pull off getting away with this piece of 'art', what do you think?
