S2000-Powered 1987 Toyota Corolla GT-S Is Sweet Blasphemy

We must admit, this F24C-swapped Toyota would be welcome in our garage, but then again we'd spend most of our time looking under the hood.

All in Fun

Honda and Toyota have been fierce competitors for decades now, which obviously trickles down to the custom car scene. And there's nothing we love more than to poke fun at those "other" guys. Well, except for Honda-swapped Toyotas like this Corolla sporting an F24 we spotted at Bring a Trailer, that is.

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Yes, on the outside, this '87 Corolla looks like nothing more than a pristine example of an old school Japanese coupe. But under that shiny surface, it's a much, much different story.

Nice Touches

True Toyota fans will notice the many nice little details here, like the Japanese-spec front and rear bumpers. And those 17" BBS wheels are nice touch as well.

Stop and Go

Underneath, a host of suspension mods has taken place as well. They include GReddy Type-S coilovers, Cusco front lateral bars, control arms, and sway bar links. Brakes consist of Rotora pieces up front and Widwoods in the rear.

Obvious Clues

But once you glance inside the cabin, this Toyota's truly unique feature becomes obvious. Well, at least to Honda fans. There, you'll undoubtedly notice the S2000 gauge cluster peeking out at you.

Clean Job

It's a clean job, as is the rest of the cabin. Amid all the stock stitching, you'll find AEM boost and air/fuel gauges, an Eclipse head unit, aftermarket shifter, and a Momo quick-release steering wheel.

Rack 'Em Up

The gauge cluster shows 102k miles, but the seller has added only 65 since this car's completion. Total mileage is unknown, of course, but we wouldn't hesitate to rack 'em up.

Lurking Monster

And that'd be easy to do, given the monster that lies under the hood. The seller purchased his transplanted engine from Inline Performance Products, then fitted it with a 2.4 stroker kit. And in case that wasn't enough, the Precision 6262 turbo adds 14 pounds of boost to the mix.

Parts List

The rest of the parts list is equally impressive. It includes things like a Gato Racing downpipe, intake, 3" exhaust, and intercooler, as well as ID injectors, AEM fuel pump, and a custom lightweight driveshaft.

Delicious Blasphemy

Power goes through the stock S2000 6-speed manual to a 9" Ford rear end fitted with 4.11 gears. And that, friends, is what we like to call delicious blasphemy!
