Major Outlier

It's no secret that the Honda S2000 has been steadily gaining in value over the past several years. We've seen some particularly stellar examples sell for big money over the period, but six figures have remained mostly out of reach for the red-hot Japanese roadster. Thus, the 150k asking price for this 822-mile example up for grabs at RP Exotics in St. Louis, Missouri is a major outlier.

Maximum Dollars

While that price seems truly insane, even in today's crazy world, this S2000 is also up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, where it doesn't currently look likely to bring home that lofty amount. Regardless, we certainly can't blame the dealer for trying to extract maximum money from what is truly a nice example of this beloved model, at least.

Well Preserved

The New Formula Red drop-top certainly looks brand new, as an 822-mile car should. Regardless, we're not so sure that it's the "cleanest and rarest S2000 in the U.S.," as the seller states. However, it is difficult to see any flaws present in the photos provided, which just depict a well-preserved piece of automotive history.

Picture Perfect

That extends to the interior, which is pretty much picture-perfect with minimal bolster wear and nothing else of note. Everything here is bone stock and in immaculate condition, as one would expect from a car with so few miles and such a high price tag.

Barely Used

Pop the hood, and it's just more of the same - a super sanitary engine bay that looks like it's barely been used because it hasn't. Outside of basic oil changes, nothing here deviates from the way this car came from the factory, and if one didn't know any better, they might think that they're looking at promo Honda photos of the S2000 here.

Worth It?

Still, we have a hard time believing that any non-Club Racer S2000 is worth over $100k, though we suppose that anything is possible in this day and age of rapid inflation, supply constraints, and the slow takeover of electric vehicles.
