Fine Example

Low-mile Honda S2000s are all the rage these days, with fans of the entertaining sports car routine shelling out big bucks to bring one home. That was also the case with this fine Rio Yellow Pearl 2005 model that recently crossed the virtual block at Cars & Bids. It failed to sell with a high bid of $36,500, but this AP2 is certainly a fine example of its breed if nothing else.

All the Credentials

This gorgeous ride is a true one-owner car with just 20,700 miles showing on the odometer. It certainly looks the part as well and is essentially flawless given its age, with a clean Carfax to boot. The well-equipped roadster retailed for $33,700 when it was new, as we can see from the window sticker, which is around $47,800 in today's money.

Feature Rich

This S2000 is also bone stock with no modifications. It came equipped from the factory with plenty of standard equipment including 17-inch alloy wheels, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, Xenon HID headlights, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and the S2000's famous digital gauge cluster.

Clean Cabin

The black cabin provides a nice bit of contrast to the bright exterior and presents in essentially new condition. Nothing here has been modified or altered, which is somewhat rare in today's world, where the S2000 has become an incredibly popular vehicle to alter.

Powertrain

The same goes for the engine compartment, where the car's inline-four looks brand new and has not been modified in any way. Honda's 2.2-liter F22C powerplant was originally rated to produce 240 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque with an 8,000 rpm redline and sends that power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Wear and Tear

As one would expect, there are a few flaws present on this otherwise gorgeous machine, starting with the 2005 date-coded tires, which should be replaced for safety reasons. There are also some stone chips up front and a few scratches here and there, along with some creasing of the leather, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Nice as They Get

Overall, this is a fine example of an AP2 and a car that we imagine will eventually garner the sort of money the seller is looking to get. After all, S2000 values continue to rise with no ceiling in sight, and this particular roadster is about as nice as they get.
