Edgy Makeover

Ever since the Honda S2000 was discontinued, many have clamored for a return, though in all fairness, not everyone wants to see the sports car come back in modern guise. Regardless, that won't stop artists from imagining what an S2000 reboot might look like, including Timothy Adry Emmanuel, who recently gave the legendary model an edgy modern makeover.

Experience Pays Off

To us, at least, this squared-off S2000 looks pretty decent and far better than some of the other renderings we've seen out there. But then again, Emmanuel is no stranger to such works, having designed modified vehicles that have actually come to fruition in the past.

Heavy Influence

The front end has a bit of Lexus LFA influence, it seems, which isn't a bad thing considering that car's rarity, value, and prominence. At the same time, if you squint, you can still see the original S2000's influence on this particular reboot.

Visually Interesting

Large air intakes in the front end give way to some interesting character lines down the side of the vehicle, sweeping upward to give this car the appearance of one that's moving, even when it's sitting still. Throw in a set of split five-spoke wheels, and you've got a visually interesting idea.

Less Busy

In the back, the look is capped off with the typical singular bar that stretches across the entire width of the vehicle, though it doesn't appear to be any kind of light bar. Rather, there are traditional taillights hidden at each end, which gives it a cleaner, less busy look.

Keep Dreaming

Some will love it and some will hate it, but to us, this effort to revive the S2000 in digital form is better than most. And while it still seems unlikely that we'll ever see a new S2000 (at least one that's true to the original), we can always dream, no?
