Wekfest Comes to Los Angeles

It has become a tradition for Wekfest to make its way through southern California with a showing in Long Beach each year. While the event has usually been taking place in May, the organizers of Wekfest had to move things around for this year's show. 

For the 2018 Wekfest LA, the show not only had a new time and date, but it was also hosted at a different venue from previous years. This summer, Wekfest LA took place in early August as opposed to late May. And the waterfront park at Queen Mary in Long Beach was not the meeting spot this time around, as the show made a move indoors to the cool and air-conditioned halls of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Of course, we have featured a few Wekfest events on S2Ki previously and what Wekfest should be applauded for is their consistency. As we mentioned before, the Wekfest formula is quality and not quantity. Every vehicle that makes it to the show floor has been hand-picked by the event's group of curators. Another cool thing about the show is that guests often have the opportunity to see debuting cars which makes the experience even more exciting.

The event this year featured a large number of cars ranging from Honda Civics, S2000s, Porsches, FRS/BRZs, S-chassis cars, and more. There was also a big presence of VIP builds at the show, so there was a little bit of everything for everyone and plenty of different kinds of builds to look at. We have compiled our cherry-picked favorites and highlights here for you.
