Default Custom Heat Shield Complete (pics)

I started a thread about a month ago about a heat shield I wanted to make. Well, its all done and installed. Let me know what you guys think. Please keep the negative comments to yourself. Will let you know how effective this shield is later this week. Ask if you have any questions! (Not sure why these pictures came out huge)

Couldn't you have just posted these in your original thread and edited the title instead of making a new thread?

I think it would look better if it was black. Right now it looks like aluminum foil under the engine bay. Nice concept, explain what heat you are blocking or steering away from what? Im curious. way to be adventurous OP, good stuff.

Lol I was going to say the same thing to him. But yeah when I made it, I made it out of a really nice sheet of dark stainless but in the process of bending and cutting it etc...It had a bunch of scratches so I figured I'd just wrap it in some insulating tape. It doesn't look the best but to the touch, this stuff keeps it a lot cooler (who knows how effective itl be in practice). As far as heat I'm deflecting...The hot air from the radiator and the soak from the engine. And if it doesn't achieve this...I think it still looks better than the ugly plastic airbox.

you could have just wrapped the stock box in the protective tape and had the same effect... but otherwise I'm all for people experimenting and making modifications to their own likings . Nicely Done.

I wanted the cleaner look, shielding from the radiator, shielding from the engine, and a more open air filter. But thank you : )

So, you don't want to know what everyone thinks?

Not sure I understand how this works. What's keeping the radiant heat from getting into your heat shield?

Are you going to take temp measurements?
