Default Abingdon Airfield Track Day - Friday 9th August *

I have been looking into going to Abingdon in Oxfordshire to do an airfield track day as it looks good fun and has plenty of run off with not a lot to hit being on an airfield. It's also a good way to get a taster before actually venturing out onto a real track.

I was wondering if anyone fancies coming along as it would be great to get a group of us going.

Price: £129 (Track Use Only - Helmets must be worn)
Add on: 1hr Driver Tuition £60
Date: Friday 9th August
10 or more cars and each main driver gets a complimentary 20 minute lesson which normally costs £25
Additional 20 minute lesson to top up the complimentary one: £25
Passengers: £10
Additional Drivers: £20
Helmet Hire: £10

Things to bring with you:

Driving license - paper and card section required
MSE Disclaimer (sent to you via e-mail with your booking confirmation - they should have spares there that can be filled out though)
Long sleeve top and long trousers - you need to be covered up when driving
Towing eye (only 1 required)
Oil
Tyre pressure gauge
Foot pump or mini tyre compressor
Basic tools (12mm, 14mm, 17mm sockets and ratchet/spanners)
Spare brake pads (not essential but it's better to be over prepared)

A few of us are bringing tools and a spare set of pads so not everyone needs all of the above but if you have them then it makes things easier for everyone.

See you all in the morning!

It's a fun track and Motorsport-Events do very well run days. Great for trackday beginners.

An hour's instruction at £50 is money very well spent too.

All on http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/ you can book instruction etc as part of the package. Actually it's £60 but still great value for money.

Hook me up!! I need to get the chavmobile out much more this year, and these are bloody great value!

Alex, let's see if Ed and Natasha could do us a deal if we get a number of S2000's - we could then support it through S2KUK and could get it emailed out too

Great Plan Ian! Who are Ed and Natasha?

Is this something you are able to look into or do you want me to do it? If you give me the details I can fire off an e-mail if you like?

Suppose I better renew my membership this month...

Ed and Natasha Moore are the guys who run Motorsport Events. If you contact them, you'll probably end up communicating with Natasha. trackdays@motorsport-events.com or call 0844 873 6075

In my experience, they are unlikely to offer a discount on the day (as they are already very cheap) but you might get a deal on the instruction.

I might well tag along to this as I'm off work that day anyway.

Out of interest do you need to specify a car/reg when booking or is it just a case of book & turn up in whatever car?
