Default UOA after 41K OCI at 272,000 miles

I have an Amsoil Dual Remote Bypass filter and a prelube pump on my '03 S2000, and I just got a Used Oil Analysis on the oil after 41,093 miles. The car has 272,000 miles on it. I use Amsoil Signature Series 0W-30 oil. The only work I have done to the engine is a valve adjustment at around 200k miles.

I thought I'd share this with you. My goal is to get 500K+ miles, which is why I have the bypass/prelube setup. It works great, although I had a minor leak that I just fixed with my last oil change. I changed the filters the same time I changed the oil and took this test sample. I drive mostly highway miles, so they're easy miles on this car.

Wow , simply amazing, I get that much wear just driving down my street once. Whatever you are doing is working amazingly well. That engine may never wear out at that pace , million miles seems very reasonable

Are you pushing the car around?

How is this actually possible?

With 10 makeup quarts in ~40k miles, that's like adding a quart every ~3,500 miles. That would keep the oil somewhat fresher, but still quite impressive. Priming the oil pressure prior to start would certainly help with wear, but wouldn't explain all of your good performance. Your driving habits likely have a lot to do with it. I used Mobil 1 for most of my '05s >80k miles, but UOAs see a drop in viscosity when I do a track day or 2 in a 5k mile change interval.

Good luck in hitting 500k! Make sure to hit 333,333 miles while driving 33mph at 3:33 on my wife's birthday (March 3rd) ;-)
