That's terrible, just terrible. My thoughts and prayers go out for a full recovery for this great champion. Thanks for posting, Dave.

2am PST doctors report:

He hit hard. He would be dead without the helmet. Reason for conflicting earlier reports is he was conscious when being transported, but as bleeding and swelling progressed it caused agitation and he lost consciousness. Several areas of lesions and bleeding. Surgery to stop it. Fighting for life. Being kept in coma and cold to facilitate healing and reduce swelling. Probably bring him out of coma n a few days. Prognosis is completely unknown at this point.

WOW!
I just heard the news, and with all the reports out there, there is clearly some signs for both hope and more worry...
How sad
I'm deeply saddened myself as I was lucky enough to get into F1 early enough, I have followed his full F1 career
Just so shocking that skiing could be his last fast run, after such an incredible driving career

Prayers and best wishes for Schumi and hoping he pulls through for its never over until it is over

Former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo says the latest news about the health of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher "is not good".
It is more than two years since Schumacher sustained severe brain injuries following a skiing accident in the French Alps.
"I have news and unfortunately it is not good," Montezemolo told reporters, but did not elaborate. "Life is strange. He was a fantastic driver and only had one accident with Ferrari in 1999."
Last October, FIA president and close family friend Jean Todt said Schumacher "is still fighting".
The German spent a number of months in intensive care in Grenoble hospital before regaining consciousness. He was then moved to a hospital closer to home in Lausanne before returning home in early September 2014. Since then, there has been little information revealed about the 46-year-old and his recovery.
The last official statement from Schumacher's management came in September 2014 and said the German faces a "long and difficult road ahead".

Agreed, just let the man die, no business of ours.
