F22 stroker from F20 confirmation please

Default F22 stroker from F20 confirmation please

Hi,

I have a JDM AP1 F20, and from what I have gathered to convert it to 2.2, I just used the AP2 crank and rods and use the AP1 pistons. And that using the JDM pistons means the static compression ratio rises to 12.7:1? Is that correct? No change of oil pump or block modifications?

Im assuming with a decent tune and fuel around 210-220WHP is achievable?

I cannot comment on the static compression ratio since I didn't do the math on it, but I have the exact setup you described. It runs on 91 Octane perfectly fine on an 2000 or 2004 ECU.

Thanks Dagle, I am running a Vipec V88 ECU so that side is sorted.

So you just used the F22 crank and rods, no other tricks to this conversion? Sounds pretty straight forward! Did you dyno it?

Yes, F22C1 crank and rods with F20C1(AP1) pistons. Everything was a direct fit, nothing modified. As far as I know, the F20C1 and F22C1 block castings are the same. It has not been dyno'd, but feels no different than an F20C1 or F22C1.

Yeah I imagine the extra compression is not substantial.

I dont think we have an AP1 F22 here, we only have an AP2 F22, Im assuming either crank and rod from AP1 or AP2 will work in the F20C1?

I'm doing the same thing.

My engine is a F20C, and i bought the f22c crower rods, and still searching for a f22c crank for a good price, but it is a direct fit

Unfortenately we dont have the f22c here in Europe.

Why didnt you just use the stock rods out of interest? Im looking for a reasonably priced crank too! Inline Pro has stock used ones for $750! Bit much for me...

Because from what i know, they are one of the best rods for this engines in the market. They are Crower rods, not Brian Crower.

I wanted to buy the custom ones from Urge Designs, but not being my car a only a race car, only for some trackdays, i decided to buy the normal crower set. I think the diference is on the bolts.

Good to know Inline Pro have used ones for sale, i need one urgent =) but they are still expensive for used cranks..

We swap out blocks all the time. No issues.

Assuming the piston pin height is the same, you can swap the pistons too.

With 11.7 jdm pistons I calculate 12.7 cr with the 90.7mm stroke.

Good value to go this way.
