Here's the plan:

We meet on the Essex coast in time to see the sunrise, then, in true Burt Reynolds style, someone will say the magic word 'Cannonball' and we'll hit the road, aiming to be in Aberystwyth, via a number of refreshment and fuel stops, in time to watch the sunset in the west.

This run won't be traditional convoy style, everyone will be left to their own devices to get to the waypoints, where we'll regroup before moving on - it's not a race like the film I'm afraid!

The waypoints will be based on a non-motorway route that will take us through the Brecon National Park, so the emphasis is on fun driving roads, as well as the coast-to-coast challenge of course. We've chosen Aberystwyth so that anyone of a mind to do so can go and play in the Snowdonia National Park on Sunday, before heading home.

Start point confirmed as Frinton on Sea.
Finish point confirmed as marina area in Aberystwyth.
We will research camping and hotel accommodation at each end.

For a bit of fun, anyone who wants to do some special Cannonball themed customising of their car, or themselves, will get a small prize, but we'd like to do a little bit of good for the world too, so each participant will have to make a donation of at least £10 which will be donated to a worthy charity. Any suggestions will be very welcome.

So, if you're up for a big run, "from sea to shining sea", put your name down.
