It’s time for a Spring Time Drive everyone!
I’m organizing a Group Drive to Mormon Lake in Flagstaff, AZ on Saturday, May 10th through the back roads of Arizona. I will be organizing the event with the help of Adrs2k who will co-lead the overall Group Drive with me. It will be a long day but the planned route will be fun and scenic. With that in mind, I’ve put up a poll to establish which of two dates in May work best for those planning on participating. Please vote on one or both so I can firm that up. Majority vote will establish the date of the Group Drive. Also post your first name, S2ki username, and whether or not you will have a passenger in the car with you. It would also be helpful to know if you’re willing to have someone ride with you if others want to participate but can’t drive. Once a date is established, I will update it on the subject header of this thread. I will also update the first post on this thread to include a running list of participants. Please know that this Group Drive will be a long day and we will not have our traditional sit-down but rather a grab-n-eat format for lunch. I want to be time sensitive given the long day planned.We will have an opportunity to stop at Mormon Lake and enjoy the view and take some group pics.

Based on the total number of vehicles, I may also ask other experienced S2Ki AZ members to help as Group Leaders in the event we need to break the Group Drive into smaller groups. It's a great opporutnity for new members to participate in a Group Drive. It's a lot of fun! However if you’re a new AZ member to S2Ki and the back roads of Arizona, do not volunteer to be a Group Leader as Adrs2k and I will make those selections. Your car must also be in good operating condition to participate. We will not have the time or resources to fix major mechanical issues. To make it more fun, I’m also planning on having a small raffle for prizes prior to the start of the Group Drive. Any donations to the raffle would be greatly appreciated! Maps and water bottles will also be provided prior to the start of the Group Drive. Given the number of drivers, we will break up into smaller groups with a few designated Group Leaders. We will be meeting at 8:30 a.m. to review the Drive Route, Driving Instructions, and Prize Raffle. The Drive will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Please be on time!
