^+1, I am waiting for my +45 set to come in but in the interim, I decided to buy both sets of caps - the o-ring and clip-type.

Like you said, the clip-type won't sit flush on the rear so I'm anxious to see how it will look like in person.
To be honest I haven't done much research into caps. What's the difference between o-ring and clip? I guess I could always google it.
The CEs use the o-ring type. I don't think the clip type are designed to work with the CEs at all but maybe some people have tried to make them work or something?

I love having the center caps on but I tend to just leave them off as I am out driving enough that if I leave them on I will just end up losing one. The o-rings seal so well that a ton of pressure builds up behind them on the front hubs and they can end up getting fired off like a champagne cork when the front hubs get hot and then cool down.

I still haven't found a decent way to remove them without taking off the wheels.

I wonder if you could notch the o-ring in an effort to relieve pressure buildup.

It might be worth the $60 to pick up a pair of the clip type to see how they fit.

Was just thinking about doing something like that actually might work pretty well.

One notch should be sufficient. If it's hard to put it on without taking the wheel off then I'm sure a notch wouldn't affect the integrity of the piece.

Let me know how it goes if you end up doing it!

Paint Progress

It looks like some paint will get slapped on soon, as all parts have been primered.

And some shots of the car

My brother drove down to pick up all my spare parts + the RE30's today and played a game of tetris.

It should all be done pretty soon!
