Default OPL Trackday & Sprint combo at Blyton - Sat 19th September

Hi.
Im a CRX owner popping over with a proposition for you UK S2000 trackday people.

A few friends and I used to do some combined open pit lane trackday/sprint days at Blyton a year or two back with MOT Trackdays. They were brilliant fun. The morning was run as a regular OPL trackday which gave time for line finding and practice, setup etc and then after lunch it changed to a timed sprint (single, standing start timed laps). But it fizzled out over time, too few people attended, mostly due to it being a word of mouth thing rather than highly publicised.
However, I have managed to round up quite a few interested folk with all sorts of vehicles from MX5s, CRXs, Westfields etc and now the RX8 guys quite fancy their chances and MOT have agreed to run another sprint seesion on September 19th at Blyton Park, using the Outer Circuit as per "the good old days".

Now, the CRX guys have fun with beating up the regular MX5s and with the RX8 lot coming aboard I though it might be of interest to the S2000 community. Yknow, to lay down the law a bit on an officially timed event.

These days have been very well run in the past, a really good crowd overall, with much banter and general fun had by all. Forget those trackdays with idiots that wont get out of the way or think theyre some drift king, this is not how MOT days go. Muppets will not be tolerated but much fun is had by people with manners who fancy a good day out.

So. After all that typing - is this of some interest?

Heres a link to the TDO info and booking page - http://www.mazdaontrack.co.uk/blyton...2015-641-p.asp
Heres a bit of video showing how people behave on track (10:50 onwards) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjPw...tu.be&t=10m50s
And heres a random sprint lap from my CRX at Blyton - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkMoQiSDDSE

MOT are offering a little discount for early bookings but youll have to PM me for that, discount codes found via Google just dont work for anyone.

Honestly, these days are a riot and by far the easiest and most simple way to get into some form of motorsport.
Ive been cleared by your Mods, all is above board, so please, feel free to post up or message me with any questions.

Oh, RX8s.... gotta show em...

No interest?
Thought you guys would be up for a fight with the RX8s (and turbo/SC MX5s) along with fun with some fellow Hondas.

Honestly, these are really good fun days with no muppets attending, track manners are the best youll find for the morning OPL session and the banter for the afternoon sprint properly eggs you on to "make that lap".
Youll not find a more friendly or fun trackday nevermind sprint than this.

I would be very interested, but I'm on holiday on the 19th

Looking to do my first track day, and this looks good plus its not too far away. I will be interested if you are running another.

Thats a shame. If this day gets good numbers then more should follow and going by the interest so far from other forums/groups its looking good already.

If you just fancy a trackday though, MOT do have some upcoming dates there. Theyre good people with a good crowd and Blyton is great for a first experience as theres pretty much nothing to hit. The circuit is relatively simple although tricky to get a really quick time around it.

Noone? May I ask if there is any particular reason why?

We would love to have some S2000s at this, especially now the RX8 boys are threatening up to a 15 car turn out.

Honestly - these days are a right laugh, no idiots present just good people who know how to behave on track. Some are even quite good.

Go on, stick your neck out and come and play. If you dont like it then Ill buy you lunch, I promise.

Too far away from me, I'm afraid. If I was going to that part of the world, I'd go to Cadwell.

I know a few of the Cheshire gang have been to Blyton before, and will have been practising at Curborough.

Maybe ask in that thread: https://www.s2ki.com/...iday-19th-june/

Or add something to one of the Yorkshire threads https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/112...sday-21st-may/

It's a shame no-one seems interested, it looks like it'll be great fun.

Cheers for the reply and links, I will have a rummage.

Cadwell is great, cant argue that at all. Blyton is still a good, safe circuit though and a real challenge to go properly quickly and get a good time for Sprints - the circuit levels field so much, loads of power wont help much there, its pretty much all down to the driving.

Looks interesting and I haven't done a trackday in my latest S yet - booked!

Never done a sprint before, but I guess this must be better than a full day of OPL track-driving that can get a bit monotonous.

Looking forward to it, an excuse to put my AD08R's on!
