Here is an article from Hemmings on that car

http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...r-restoration/

Maybe the headers were changed back to what was closest to the one used at Lemans in 1966. Keep in mind this car was used as a mule following the race.

EDIT: Here is what he had to say on the status update for this car
Interesting details, like the oil cooler is out of a 60s Cessna, hand painted numbers with drips duplicated in the same spots as original, dash labeled with "horny" for the "horn" as crew members changed it for Le Mans as a joke.... Dry sump in the front, fuel tanks in the rockers, just awesome!

Sure sounds like the same car.

Nice analysis of how Alexander Rossi won the Indy 500 and how he and the team worked against odds to save fuel and run longer to win the race

http://www.racer.com/more/viewpoints...=1&limitstart=

Bear in mind the Ford GT also won its first race because of fuel saving strategies they learned from the IndyCar driver (Dixon I think) who drove that car at Daytona. They applied that strategy to the shorter endurance race to win.

So apparently last week there was a 24h race at the Nurburgring that had to be red-flagged for a few hours because of extreme weather conditions, like hail and snow. You can check out the progression here:

And then, upon restart, this is what the road and racing conditions were like:

The 'ring is difficult enough of a track. I can't imagine it in those conditions.

^ Those guys have some 'large attachments' as David Hobbes used to say on Speed. I can't imagine doing a track day in such weather, let alone racing on a circuit like Nurburgring.

Wrong Forum but have to report anyway!

Not one, not two, but three S2000 sightings within a period of about 1 hour, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Sebring Silver in my office parking lot in New Milford, so he wasn't having a good day.

New Formula Red - top down coming over the mountain from Warren, Connecticut on Route 45.

Then, I think a Laguna Blue, again top down, heading south on Route 7 south of Cornwall.

For sightings #2 and #3, I was hauling the MGA on an open trailer, heading for Lime Rock. The NFR passed me. The Laguna Blue was coming in the opposite direction.

I'll be racing this weekend, but the sightings make me want to get the S on the road.

Good luck with racing this weekend. Perhaps you should start driving the S2000 to work more often. If the Sebring Silver is a client of yours, maybe you can recruit him into our group and maybe even cajole him into going to Watkins Glen.

From today's 'You Might Be a Redneck If...' calendar:

...if you think Fifty Shades of Grey is a reference to your project car.

I think summer is road rage season. Lot of cars out on the roads, not everyone has a rush to get somewhere and it can get frustrating. Like for instance, a lady in a CR-V just cut me off without yielding to me on a merge and then drove under the speed limit. I just bit my lip, backed off a bit and made sure I opened up a comfortable gap behind her. Just a note of caution to all of you. Take the high road in a confrontation and if someone is in a hurry, let them by. Much rather have you and your loved ones unhurt than what happened to this Nissan 300ZX somewhere in Oklahoma
