Default TEST PIPE INSTALL

I just got a Invidia Test Pipe, how easy is the install? Is it just a few bolts to unscrew or is there something else I should know. I don't want to get any CEL lights to come up. I did buy the extra little O2 bung that's supposed to prevent the CEL will that do the job? Please let me know - thanks

its really easy, just unbolt the cat and undo the 02 sensor. If you have an older car the bolts may be seized up

yup the older the car the worse, i did an invidia on an 03 and the bolts were seized up, just spray some lubricant on the bolts and try to unbolt them.

thanks guys, one last concern: if I swap back the stock cat when I go to do inspection and then put the test pipe back on right after is there any issues with that?

Just get an o2 fix... they don't look under the car. Depending on the state some dont even sniff.

The top bolt was a PITA for me.

Penetrating fluids such as Liquid Wrench and PB Blaster are much better than WD-40 in this application. Apply liberally and let them soak in for as long as possible, then re-apply. When doing work on old, rusty exhaust systems I apply the product, let it sit overnight, and then apply again about an hour before doing the work.

This is what the bolts look like. I took pics a day after the install.

Header Side:

Exhaust Side:

The three bolts were HORRIBLE to get off. I snapped one off accidentally but I had new ones from the Invidia exhast I installed at the same time. If you do break a bolt and have replacements you can tap out the old one with a hammer.

This is the O2 before the fix. I can't find a pic with the fix. Before installing the O2 I would suggest pre twisting the sensor in the opposite direction to how you are going to screw it in. It will relieve a little stress on the wire.
