Default Radiator Fan Control AEM EMS

I just wanted to confirm this is how to manually control the radiator fans using the AEM EMS.

setup>air conditioner>options
AC request input = switch 6, gnd on
AC clutch = LS6
AC fan speed= disable
Rad Fan=LS8

options>configure outputs
Under output, select LS8 in the drop down menu
check basic activation and fill in values so it will always be active
check active under switched output configuration and select switch is always on
Finally go to function tab, select rad fan on the drop down menu and input whatever values you desire.

Anyone who is manually controlling their fans, what temps do you have them turn on and turn off?

So my setting are:

AC fan speed = LS8
Rad Fan= Disabled

I have Mugen Fan Switch and Thermo. Is this not setup right? I just re-did my coolant and iat tables as said in the other thread. My coolant temps seem to stay around 155-162 and intake 90-105 w/ aftercooler in ambient temps of 75 degrees or so.

Does this mean that my fans never come on?

It means you are using the AC fan rather than the Rad fan.
That presumes you have set the parameters for the AC fan.
I have found the rad fan comes on with the AC fan anyway.
I also only have one fan (Visteon race rad) that does both the AC and coolant. I'd swap yours round to make sure the rad fan does come on at the desired coolant temp.
Also the fan switch will make no difference as you are selecting temps in the EMS. I think is is actually a sensor that mugen change the range on rather than a switch. How else would you be able to change the settings if it was a switch!
Thermostat is a waste as well IMHO. It only changes the temp at which the coolant system runs on a closed loop whilst the car warms up. Unnecessary once the car has warmed up

The way that you have it is that the fans will turn on based on your mugen fan switch. I just posted this info so people didn't have to buy any extra equipment to control the fans.

Your temps are so low due to the aftermarket thermostat. Thats why its pointless to have a fan switch without a thermostat. aftermarket fan switches turn on at like ~170F or so but the stock thermostat doesn't fully open till 194F.

well unless you want to have the EMS control your fan, then you can sell your fan switch and get a little money out of it since us AEM people have no use for it as we can control it ourselves.
