949Racing

These are Solidworks CAD photo renderings of the final wheels. The bronze render came out a tiny bit too copper bit it's darn close. All are satin finish except the Nickel (paint) which is almost like chrome. We should have the first pre-production samples in a week or so. Hoping to start production in the next few weeks.

Cap is a flush carbon look emblem with embossed silver 949Racing logo. The wheels have the 949Racing and 6ULR logo embossed between the spokes like the 15" 6UL.

The 6ULR will is styled much like our current 15" 6UL 4x100 wheel. Low pressure cast, T6 heat treated and with a roll formed outer. The closest reference would be an RP-F1 which is only gravity cast center and T4 heat treated. The 6ULR will be a step above that with pressure casting, a bit more weight, stiffness and strength plus clearance for the biggest brake kits. The 6ULR will incorporate a knurled inner bead to reduce the chance of the tire spinning on the wheel. Alloy hub centering rings optional. Standard 60° taper seat lug hole.

Planned variants for the first production run:

17x9 +63 plug and play all around S2000, about 17 lbs
17x9 +48 slight fender roll in front, aimed more at RX8's an such
17x10 +72 S2000 rear maybe a slight roll needed depending on camber, about 18 lbs
17x10 +52 S2000 front race only fitment, major rolling

17x9 +48 & +63 Wilwood 12.9”, Spoon caliper
17x10 +52 & +72 Stoptech 328mm, Endless/Amuse/J’sRacing

We will not be offering custom made-to-order order wheels.
Anticipated arrival March-April 2010.
Once testing is complete, we will post full details on the final spec, pics and accept pre-orders.

Target pricing is about $259 for the 17x9 and about $289 for the 17x10

Will the 17x9 63 clear the Stoptech BBK in the front & will the 17x9 48 fit in the rear without rubbing (no rolling)? thanks

No on the second question. If you roll it should fit w/o rubbing with the right amount of camber. Rolling the rear fenders is really painless if you take it to someone who knows how to do it well. A local shop here does them for $50 a fender and won't crack the paint.

I'm going to guess 'no' on this one. With Volk RE30s, 17x9, +63offset, a 10mm spacer is needed at the minimum. I have only checked fitment using the printed out templete Stoptech provides, not an actual test fit.

949Racing

I gave the engineer drawing the 17" 6ULR the StopTech 328 template. Adding the needed clearance would have added to much weight to the wheel. I reasoned that the few racers using the StopTech 328 with 17's would be running our 17x10 +52 which has the room. Generally, I don't want to add a feature to a given application that adds weight but only benefits a very small portion of the buyers.

The guys wanting to fit the 355mm StopTech will likely be running 18x10's up front like Krazik.

One option for the ST 328 up front is running the 17x9 +48 version. With race camber and 255's, they just clear without rolling.

949Racing

First pre-production sample arrived today. It's perfect! We have to make a small change to cap retention bead to tighten the cap's fit and the bead knurling will be a bit deeper. Other than that it's ready for prime time. Weight is 16.9 lbs with cap and both valves.

This is a photo of the 17x9 sample wheel I took this morning, not a CAD rendering as in the OP.

Ooooo, is that the +63 offset or the +48?

If its the +63, I imagine the +48 being more concave.
