Default New Differential Busing Collars!

I know there has been some talk lately about solid diff mounts. I found these aluminum diff collars for the OEM bushings and thought I would give them a try. I did a write up for the install for anyone that needs a little help or hasn't seen them before.

I'm really excited about this mod What do you guys think?

I will be doing a full review soon. I have an SCCA autocross event planned this coming weekend and I'll be at BW on June 5th so stay tunned for driving impressions

Interesting - but what are the tangible/measurable gains?

Wouldn't this cause mort of a shock to the diff during launches? I am quite paranoid of breaking my 3rd diff..

I'll be keeping an eye on this to see how you like them. I've see lots of these in the Hyperrev catalogs but never knew of anyone that made them out of the US.

Doesn't help rob, but what I did and have been using them for 4 years now is....

1) Buy a can of urethane epoxy from McMaster-Carr
2) Take the mounts out.
3) Drill a couple good sized holes (~1/2") in them to get the fluid out
4) Duct tape 1 side of them to create a seal to keep the epoxy in
5) Fill them with epoxy.

I did the front and rear diff mounts, cost about $10 for the epoxy IIRC.

^Haha! That does seam like a great idea!

I'm gonna give them a try at autocross and track first since I've already got em in. I still want some compliance in the busings to keep wear and tear down vs. a solid busing, but I would like to stiffen things up quite a bit. Hopefully there is some middle ground.... I'm a little afraid that a solid bushing would be too much for my application. I want to get the best of both worlds without spending a lot of money in the process.

I'm definitely doing the epoxy trick for sure when or if I want them to be solid! I'm all about cheap DIY! Thanks for the tip!

Instead of epoxy, you might want to very stiff rubber. McMaster should have something.

Rob: There are many levels of hardness on the urethane btw.
Bikey: It's flexible depending on the hardness you choose.
