Mothballing for the winter
As the days get shorter, weather gets worse, I'm using the S2000 less and less (done the grand total of 20 miles this month), so I think it's time for it to go away.
I've got a nice big empty barn/stable block to keep it in, which is new in construction and dry.
I've also got a car cover (the blue OEM one).
My plan is:
1) Give the soft top a clean and condition
2) Fold it down then place a towel in between the folded plastic screen
3) Fit the Hard top
4) Top up all fluids
5) Give it a deep clean, followed by polish/wax
6) Valet the interior (condition the leather)
7) Leave it in gear, dis-engage handbrake
8) Disconnect battery
9) Fit car cover
10) Every couple of weeks, move car few inches to prevent deformation of the tyres
Anything I've missed? Any tips/hints on storing the car for a few months?
Many thanks, Chris

you can get tyres savers so you dont have to move the car and you can get a battery trickle charger, rather than turning it off, and thus turning off the alarm, which could do something to insurance. (maybe!)

1. Defiantly
2 & 3. Defiantly not!, Soft top up, folded can cause more damage, I would say up but not latched.
4. Not required, if it’s not being used why? Check and top up when you are ready to use it.
5/6/7. Yes, Yes, if the car is on the level don't leave it in gear just handbrake off.
8. No, A trickle charger will keep the radio and alarm (and insurance) alive.
9. No No !!! Covers will rub on the surface or a cover sitting on the wax may mar the surface. if you have a nice big barn defiantly go for one of these,

With an air circulator/dehumidifier, it's the only option to keep dust off and control the environment.
10. No, Two pair of axel stands to JUST take the load off the tyres without leaving the shocks over extended.
Have you missed anything?
1. Lube up the rubber Shin-Etsu or whatever your choice is
2. If you run on semi-ethanol fuel (shell V-Power Tesco 99 Ron etc), run the tank as low as possible as it's hydroscopic i.e. attracts water, before you start up in the spring put 5L of fresh fuel in and run it through.
3. Get a good loud alarm fitted to the barn.
4. loads of leather conditioner inside & vinyl protection inside and out as required.
Edit. drop the tyre pressures by about 5psi.
I personally wouldn't discon the battery.
I did that last year and when I can back to it only one of my two fobs works now.
I presume the master fob is still working but the second fob data was in some sort of short term memory and it's been wiped as the alarm backup battery ran flat.
Mine is off the road this winter too, but I haven't SORNed it or cancelled the insurance.
My winter regime will just be to wait for a relatively nice day and take it for a short drive, so long as I can do that once or twice a month it'll keep everything working.
