Default 06+ Walbro Fuel Pump Install Trimming to fit

I searched for days and all the threads i find, the picture links are all dead. Anyways what i know is that the 00-05 fuel pump housing is different from 06-08. The 00-05 uses a rubber hose and 2 clamps to connect the pump to the housing. The 06-08 uses a plastic piece with a rubber boot in each end to connect the pump to the housing, which you will see in my pics below. The walbro pump is about 1/4 inch longer than the OEM pump, the 00-05 guys have to trim the rubber hose some for the pump to sit correctly and the end cap to snap on. I was able to get my end cap on but with a lot of force and i wasn't happy with how it went together, so i started searching, and have yet to find any straight forward posts. I am hoping some 06+ owners that have done the install will chime in and let me know what they did to get this pump to fit in the stock housing. I have included pics of the plastic piece i am talking about, along with some others.

Thanks man. I'd like to know if this is what everyone one did. We need more informational threads like this about our DBW models IMO.

Well looks like that's how I will do it then. Since we are on the topic of fuel pumps, how many of you rewired with a thicker gauge straight to the battery or a 12v source. I haven't read much on that topic yet but I am considering it. I am running 9 lbs of boost on a comptech s/c with a SOS upgraded heat exchanger

I just dropped in the pump. I didnt rewire anything. Im running 360hp to the wheels. Im putting in a built bottom end in now and going to make alot more. I still wont rewire it. You can run it like it is and be 100% just fine

Well i cut the plastic end off tonight but i am having trouble finding a fuel line that fits snug on both ends. I picked up one from autozone tonight and it fits snug on the plastic piece but is loose on the fuel pump end. Not sure if this is normal and is what it is since the plastic end and fuel pump end are not the same size.

I don't want to re-wire the fuel pump if i don't have to, i just remember seeing a big post over getting a true 12volts verse 10volts

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond. I was able to find fuel line that fit both the plastic piece and the fuel pump. I'll post pictures when I put it back together for future reference.
